Birthday prompting

Hello friends,

Well on a cold wet winters day I had a beautiful morning with my gorgeous work daughters who spoilt me rotten for my birthday! Love each and every one of you.

Whilst chatting happily one of my girls asked about my videos on You Tube and gave me the prompting I needed to get my current video finished. (thanks Bree!)

These videos take a lot of work. I don't know how daily vloggers do it!!! I would like to do more but the tech side of things doesn't particularly interest me. I need to find someone who would like to take my footage and turn it into videos so I can focus on creating!!

Anyone out there who is making videos I would love to hear from you about tricks and tips you have to make the process easier!

Anyway, today I can relax as I have posted today my latest video where I was using Ranger Alcohol inks to make interesting backgrounds for cards. I like to use the ink but don't really like the glossy finish for card making. Having got some inspiration from a recent video by Tim Holtz I used hand sanitizer to remove some of the ink and make a lovely matt surface.

I hope you enjoy taking a look. I would love to hear what you think as feedback is always helpful in improving future videos.

So I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards Angela

New Canvas Complete

Hello friends,

Just popping past to say hello. I have been on holidays so not around much lately. It was a much needed break and I am feeling so much better now.

I think sometimes we just go, go, go and forget to stop and smell the roses. I had got to the point where my body was not functioning and I was forced to acknowledge that I needed time away.

I realised we hadn't been on a relaxing holiday for soooooooooooo long. I mean really relaxing, not the type where you are travelling and sightseeing and catching up with folk but the type where you sit by a river and just chill. I spent my time just watching the birds and water. I bought a book to read but didn't open it and some craft to do but didn't do any. I just needed to stop and that is what I did. It was glorious.

Since coming home I have found myself far calmer and relaxed and my creative juices are flowing again. Here is a canvas I have just completed. I love it I hope you do too.

I am hopeful of getting back to making tutorial videos now and sharing them on YouTube. Check out my channel, Papery Blue,  if you haven't seen it. It is only new and I love new subscribers so feel free to share!!

Until next time, Make sure you look after yourselves and take time to smell the roses!!
Love Angela
xx

Most of us are back at work and/or school and life is starting to rev up again.  (where did those holidays go!!) I hope you are enjoying whatever it is that is keeping you busy. I have started a new job this year working with students whilst they are in hospital. It is a very challenging but rewarding position and I feel very priviledged to be working with these special students. Luckily I am only working part-time now so have some time to devote to my YouTube channel and this gives me great joy.

So for those of you who have been following the development, testing and launch of my channel, the day is finally here and I am so delighted to announce the winner of my channel launch giveaway. Thank you to everyone who participated and while I would have loved you all to win, there can only be one winner. Take a look at my new scrapbook layout tutorial video and the announcement comes near the end. Congratulations to the lucky winner I will be contacting you very soon!

I am working on an exciting new series called 'Play and give-away' where you will have more chances to win some great paper crafting products. Make sure you head over to my channel - Ángela Bolton @ Papery Blue and subscribe to make sure you don't miss out on this exciting series.

Mixed media art journal page - Mothers

Hi everyone,

Today, I have had some mixed media fun in my art journal. There is nothing nicer than getting a little messy with paints and inks to sooth the soul. Here in Adelaide its been soooo hot and there is not much to do around the place without dying of heat stroke so slipping quietly into my art studio for some messy fun just hit the spot.

Now, I am not the best at drawing but with some concerted effort in my sketchbook my faces have at least begun to look somewhat better. I set myself the challenge of drawing 100 faces in a year. I am not quite there yet but I still have about 6 months left. When I look back at the first faces I drew I cringe but now that I can see some progress it is a great feeling. So slowly these pretty little faces are starting to appear in my mixed media work. Each tends to have her own personality and feel and I just love the way they slowly appear and you add the different mediums.

Here is a tutorial of my latest little angel, in honor of all Mothers and how wonderful they are to us. We need to remember how special the role of being a Mother is and never take them for granted as you never know how long you will have them with you.

I do hope you will enjoy this tutorial and it will inspire you to get your arty mojo on. Please consider subscribing to my blog and channel if you like scrapbooking, card making and or mixed media. I do a bit of everything here. Please feel free to share with any of your crafty friends as well. I would love to hear from you and see what you have been creating so don't forget to leave a comment.

Also if you haven't seen it yet I had a channel launch a couple of days ago and there is currently a great giveaway going on. Check it out below. Open until Jawithn 30th 2018.

Look forward to seeing you again soon

Channel Launch excitement!!

Hi everyone,

Well, I have done it.

Finally, I have set up a Youtube channel to share some videos of my art work.
I am aiming to do some scrapbook pages, cards, and art journals/ mixed media works.
It has been a long process for me to work out all the techy bits (not my favourite thing!) but I think I have worked it out to the point where I can finally post on a regular basis.

Of course, not everything is perfect yet but like all things you have to give yourself time to work out the kinks. I am wanting to get a better microphone to block out some of the sound issues but we will get there. Now it is about getting content up and staying up to date with the channel.

I do hope you will visit and say hi. I love hearing from people and getting their feedback and ideas, learning what viewers like and prefer. I hope you will take a look and consider subscribing if you are into anything papercrafting. Here is the launch video and if you are quick you can still make it in time for the give away!! (Before 30th Jan 2018)

Before I put up my launch video I decided to sort out my craft studio which was a 2 week process (to be truthful it is still happening!!) I was so crammed in with product that I couldn't think creatively. Fortunately after lots of elbow grease and help from hubby I now have a studio I am so thrilled with, with my filming set up all organised. I was considering doing a before and after video so let me know if you would like to see the bombsite that was and my now peaceful and inspiring creative space.

I am very aware of how blessed I am to have such a space and so much arty goodness and I still have heaps of things that I am making into mystery bags of products. If you are interested in taking a look at what I have still for distribution just let me know.

Anyway, it's time to finish off my next video which I am posting today (Watch out for my Mothers Art Journal mixed media page) So I will say goodbye for now and I hope to catch up with you soon.
