Hi there viewers,
Now its not that I been doing nothing that has seen me not posting regularly for months, no it is the fact that I have been very busy! What with one thing and another, working, taking classes, hurting my back (again!) adopting new family members (two little kittens) and working hard on my travel journal which has to be ready for Dec when we head to Sydney I haven't had much time to scrap.

Just so you know I was still alive I thought I'd post a couple of cards and tags that I have done quickly mainly through classes attended as it is the only way I get to get my hands dirty at the moment. I am in the process of typing up my journal and that is a long process so there isn't a lot of time for the fun stuff.

The tag is based on one from Tim Holtz's 12 tags of 2013 techniques which I watched on video the other night. He makes everything look so easy and it certainly didn't go as easily as I had hoped. It ended up okay but the patina didn't look like I wanted it to. I always find dragging card through paint and ink tricky as it never seems to look right. I think it is about getting the amounts correct and I am not sure how one gauges that. Anyway I am sure it will come in handy along the line.

The card I made using up some scraps from a class at Paper Flourish. I'll add it to my collection of cards to use in an emergency as it wasn't made with any one in particular in mind.
To finish off today I thought I would introduce you to Dwaine and Piper. These little loves I rescued from the drainage system from work. They were so wet, scared and bedraggled when I found them but they are doing better now. Aren't they just so cute. People MUST get their cats desexed so that this doesn't happen, it is so unfair on poor little innocent creatures!
Dwaine is a ginger tom and Piper is the little black one.

Dwaine is very confident and cheeky.

Piper likes the comfort of her bother and is still very timid.
Dwaine was found on a Monday (we think they were dumped Sunday night) Piper wasn't found until Friday hence she went through lots more trauma and is showing the effects. Hopefully in time she will feel the love and become a little more confident. Aren't they adorable?

Until next time, stay warm and safe....

Today we visited an old friend in hospital. The news was not good and our dear friend with all his traditional quirks could somehow smile and laugh through the pain and diabolical prognosis. We came away counting our many blessings and reminded that we have to live for today as a tribute to those who have lost the choice to do so.

We can only wish our friend all the very best and continue to visit and bring him a taste of the outside world as it seems he won't have the opportunity to do so himself anymore. The visit had a profound effect on me. It reminds me that in the scheme of things we are very insignificant and we have to make the most of each day we are given as it is a true gift.

I went home and made this little pocket watch to wear. I will carry it as a reminder to stop whinging and griping but rejoice in the day, it's challenges and joys. Because when all is said and done, Today is it!

Blessing to you all.

Well, it was back to work today. Had a great day and still had time tonight to take a walk with the hubby and do a quick altered art page.
Working with ink, acrylic paint and stamps today.
I just love the bright colours. I still have trouble having a go without trying to make it into something. Need to work on just letting the art mediums flow without looking for images. But I am happy with it anyway.
hope you like it.
Cheers

Leap of faith

Hi all,
Here is a page I finished today using the color palette 142 from the color room.

I was really quite happy with my attempt. I found these photos and just had to scrap them. They were taken 7 years ago and I can't believe I actually looked that good. (Diet starts again tomorrow!) I loved this palette as it made me think of green and fresh and so I chose these photos in the great outdoors.
Leap of faith as a title came straight to me and on reflection I thought that was exactly like our relationship.
Being the second time round we just went for it rather than worry to much and it was the best thing we ever did. We jumped right in and have never looked back.
Here's hoping 2013 will also be a great year and I am taking a leap of faith starting a blog and trying to give myself more time to be creative and scrap and blog. Hopefully only good things can come from it.
