Easters near

Hello all,

I can't believe Easter is almost upon us! SO much for keeping my blog up to date. I do have an excuse for the last month as I have been sick (in hospital and an operation) but excuses just don't cut it. Again I am pledging to myself that I must add to my blog consistently!

I had a nice surprise when I checked this morning I actually had a comment for my last entry and I hadn't realised. Its exciting when you know someone has actually looked at your work.

Anyway, as I have started to recover I have started to do some Easter decorating.
Firstly using some foam eggs I covered them in tissue paper I had stamped with a variety of script type stamps in archival ink and then decorate with ribbon, flowers and bling. Each is little bit different but they are all in the black and white theme. They make a nice little collection on my shelf.

Then I worked on a little Easter box for a present for my Mum. I used an old box that I got a candle in. I loved its glass handle and so covered it in some pretty papers and added ribbon and flowers. I am going to add an Easter egg and some of her favourite scorched almonds and I think she will love it.

I am busy working on some more Easter presents and decorations so stay tuned for my next blog!

Til then, stay safe and happy
Angie

Cheering myself up.

Hi all,

This week I am doing a  little crafting to cheer myself up. Its hard when you lose a family member and this week we lost our beautiful boy Churchill, a King Charles Caviller that we have since he was 8 weeks old. He was a ripe old 16 years, which for a dog is a pretty good innings, but it doesn't make it any easier when it is time to say good bye.

On the up side we have a lot of birthdays this time of year so I have been in my room tidying and making a few cards. Here is one that I made using the botanical Tea collection. I have seen so many beautiful cards and projects made using this collection as it is absolutely gorgeous. You can hardly put a foot wrong! I hope you like it.

Back to school

Hello again,

Well this is my last day of holidays and tomorrow I am back to school. I have had a wonderful break and am ready to get stuck into the new year. Seeing all those fresh faces ready for learning is always a thrill. But getting out of bed early ...not so much!

Anyway, before I get back in the swing I thought I would share a layout I did during my holidays of my beautiful granddaughter 'Aida's first birthday'.

Yes she starts kindy this year so it is only 3 years late but better late than never don't they say. I really must get more organised and catch up on more of my photos this year. (famous last words) and hopefully I will try and blog some more too. I was making a list of all the types of paper craft I do yesterday and it's no wonder \I always seem to have so many projects on the go and don't seem to get much of any one thing completed. Smashing cards, project life, off the page, albums, cards, art journaling, canvases, drawing bloom girls and water colour as well as scrapping pages. Then of course there is sewing, knitting and beading that hardly gets a look in but I would always love to do more of.

In my perfect world I would have a studio big enough to have everything at my fingertips and projects all laid out to work on bit by bit. I am very luck to have a bedroom dedicated to my craft but unfortunately I have outgrown it already. One day if I'm lucky I might build another room just for me. Wishful thinking never hurt anyone!

For all of you who are off to school too in the coming week good luck. For all the parents who are soon to be free again to do their own thing...enjoy!

Talk again soon (promise!)

Christmas Wishes to all,

I do hope all my crafting friends are having a wonderful Christmas with their families and friends and I do hope Santa remembered to put something creative in your stockings!

There is nothing like Christmas pressies to get your creative vibes flowing.
I received a wonderful set of Inktense blocks from my own special Santa and just couldn't sleep until I had a bit of a play with them last night.

The colour is so vibrant you feel like your in heaven as it runs and flows on the page. I haven't leant to control such a powerful medium yet but did manage to get something down that turned into a little card so I was happy with my first play time!

I used the inktense directly on my stamps and then used my water brush to push around the colour a little and do the background. Then I over stamped with archival ink and it made them pop. A sentiment piece attached and it was done.

Wishing you all lots of fun as you explore you own new playthings and I look forward to seeing what you create.
Cheers Angela.
