One of the things you don't need to spend a lot of money on at Christmas time is decorations. Whilst I love Christmas decorations and scouring the shops for the prettiest, sparkiest, colour coordinated sets it really isn't necessary. It took me a long time to get into the Christmas mood this year and so I didn't get down my many boxes of baubles and Christmas trinkets but rather spent my time making a few new pieces to decorate the house.
I thought a would share a couple before they too get packed away until next year.
The Noel word blocks where purchased at Spotlight and then I used some of my many Christmas papers to cover them. A bit of modge podge and ink and in a couple of hours I had a new decoration.
The wreath this year took a little longer but was equally as simple. Just a set of coordinating Christmas papers cut in circles of various sizes (Using a Fiscars adjustable circle cutter makes this a breeze but can just as easily be done tracing around glasses or bottles etc)
glued in random form until it looks good. I used a bit of foam tape at various stages to give it more dimension. I saw this idea on Pinterest and it was just as easy as described.
I hope you like them.
